Episode 13

Creating a Life of Legacy

Life can be viewed as a journey with many different paths. What legacy will you leave behind? In this episode, Rabbi Cohen talks about how legacy is not just about what we leave behind when we die, but also about how we live our lives every day. By living our lives with intention and purpose, we can create legacies that will last long after we are gone. Thanks for tuning in.

  • Rabbi Daniel Cohen has served in the rabbinate for over 30 years and currently serves as the spiritual leader of Congregation Agudath Sholom in Stamford, CT. He is a nationally recognized motivational speaker and published author of two books, most recently What Will They Say About You When You are Gone? Creating a Life of Legacy.
  • Rabbi Cohen’s book covers the seven transformative principles, which are designed to reverse engineer your life so that you’re living with purpose and the person you are today more closely aligns with the person you aspire to be.
  • The first step in the journey to fulfillment is to develop a prototype that is the foundation for establishing a spiritual greatness and a life of impact.
  • Rabbi Cohen discusses the concept of “Discovering Your Elijah Moment.” Elijah is a biblical prophet who appears throughout history who spread light during times of darkness.
  • Phil, Greg and Rabbi Cohen discuss the example of Alfred Nobel and how he purposefully created his legacy.
  • Time can’t be stopped, but it can be slowed down, according to Rabbi Cohen.
  • Everybody has the capacity to leave a mark on this world, to enrich their life now and lead a life of inspiration.
