Episode 12

Investment Banker to Rancher with Erik Abraham

This podcast features Erik Abraham, a Managing Partner at EJA Holdings and a Founder of Abraham Ranch, a non-profit dedicated to rescuing farm animals such as horses, cows, goats and pigs.

Key points:

  • Erik worked as an entrepreneur in the oil and gas industry in Wyoming, Colorado, and Nebraska. Erik talks about what that experience was like and how he was able to succeed.

  • Erik and his wife Katie have a passion for animal welfare and founded Abraham Ranch in Clarkston, Michigan, a northern suburb of Detroit. Abraham Ranch is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue of farm animals, all of which reside at the 140 acres of property.
  • Abraham Ranch also serves as a resource for education about animals, nature and the environment as well as a retreat destination for humans who need to reconnect with nature. One of the ways Erik and Katie give back to the community is by working with a Foundation called 42 Strong. The Foundation was established as a peer-to-peer mentoring program after a school shooting in his area a few years ago.
